D.Choijamts, the head abbot of Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the Buddhist center of Mongolia, submitted a request to hand over his duties and to retire due to his advanced age.
His request has been approved, and a new abbot has been appointed. On November 18, the welcoming ceremony of the new Khamba Lama, Geshé Jetsun D.Javzandorj, was held on the auspicious day of the fifth day of the first winter month of rabbit year of XVII sixties, at Battsagaan Tsogchin Dugan hall of the Gandantegchinlen Monastery.
