Officials have discussed a proposal to transform Ulaanbaatar's maternity hospitals into Mother and Child Centers that will provide healthcare services for children from birth to 18 years of age.

N.Naranbaatar, Head of the Capital Health Department, said the transformation is needed to comply with the legal framework, ensure the sustainable operation of healthcare institutions, expand the scope of medical services, and meet growing demand for maternal and pediatric care.

Governor of the Capital and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar B.Purevdagva instructed relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Urguu, Khuree, and Amgalan maternity hospitals, evaluating their buildings, medical equipment, and human resources.

He also directed officials to prepare the required investment plans and budget estimates and submit them to the Ulaanbaatar City Council for consideration.

Once the transformation is completed, the Mother and Child Centers will provide a full range of medical services for children aged 0-18, in addition to maternal healthcare.
