Deputy Prime Minister N.Nomtoibayar meets Japanese Ambassador Igawahara Masaru

On August 19, 2026,Deputy Prime Minister N.Nomtoibayar received Igawahara Masaru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister N.Nomtoibayar emphasized that strengthening relations and cooperation with Japan, Mongolia’s “third neighbor,” across all fields and further deepening friendship and mutual trust are among the priorities of Mongolia’s foreign policy.

He expressed gratitude for Japan’s consistent support for Mongolia’s sustainable social and economic development.

The two sides exchanged views on opportunities to introduce Japanese experience and advanced technologies in areas such as disaster prevention and risk reduction, the development of new fuel storage facilities, and strengthening Mongolia’s capacity to prevent and respond to disasters.

Ambassador Igawahara Masaru expressed his commitment to further expanding bilateral relations and cooperation based on the principles of mutual benefit and a long-term, stable partnership, and to working together to implement concrete projects and programs.

N.Nomtoibayar also reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to actively participating in the development of Eurasian economic, transport, and logistics networks and to further strengthening cooperation with Japan in all areas based on mutual trust.
